TOP 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO DO BEFORE SUMMER IS OVER (TRUST US)

Despite what Wes Anderson films / childhood memories might make you think, SUMMER IS NOT ENDLESS. Here is the Thread Society list of 5 things you NEED to do before its all over.

summerpost1

1. Throw an impromptu BBQ.

You don’t have to spend weeks planning a great summer party, some of the best are impromptu, and planned at the last minute. Buy burgers, make a salad, and ask friends to bring over a plethora of different boxed wines. Or bottled wines. Or bagged wines. Just..wine.

2. Go berry picking.

Find a spot where you can go raspberry or blueberry picking, and then use the ingredients you’ve picked yourself to make something sweet!

3. Plan a fall trip.

Get over the “summer is almost over blues” by planning a fun fall trip, that way you’ll have something to look forward to when the leaves start to change. Besides college bills. You can look forward to those all year though.

4. Clean out your closet for fall.

Admit it: You’re already thinking about the things that you want to scoop up for fall (motorcycle boots, a statement coat, comfy layers and a wool asymmetric skirt). Chances are, your closet is already packed so use this time and clean it out! Then donate your rejects to charity.

5. Play hooky, and spend an entire day at the park.

If there’s a time to play hooky from the office, it’s during one of those perfect summer days when it’s not too hot, not too humid, and when you can spend the entire day in the park soaking up those rays. Bring a cute picnic along and maybe even a bottle or two! Go ahead, we won’t tell (seeya there)

Pantone Colorcast Mondays!

Pantone Colorcast Mondays!

In “celebration” of the rainy day we’re having, let’s talk about how dark and deep Monaco Blue can add to your wardrobe.

Deep ocean blues are calming colors, so on that day where your veins appear to be popping out of your head for no apparent reason, go for a Monaco Blue tone. Chill out, have a nice tropical looking drink or some tea, and let the blue speak to you.

Dark blues look great with white or tan pants, so give those a go. Silver jewelry is a nice compliment as well but if you’re more of a gold person, go for that.

Enjoy the blue, and remember blue equals calm, not sad, so you can smile on your bluest days!
